I'm sitting here watching the booooooring Lakers-Spurs game right now, and I'm thinking... \"Who's the Worst Player in the NBA?\"

I mean, if you had to pick ONE person... who would you pick? I'm curious.

I honestly think it might be Mark Madsen. Off the top of my head, I can't really think of anyone worse than him skillwise. He really has no discernable skills. He can't shoot or jump. All he brings to the table is hustle and energy. This doesn't make him a bad person, just a terrible NBA player.

Is anyone worse than Madsen?

That's tough. I think skill-wise, Madsen is in the conversation. However, as far as a player when you add in size, effort, and basketball IQ, he still can contribute and he's still alright on D (I don't like him for 2.5 mil a season and a 4 year commitment, though). Maybe for the amount of minutes he gets he's the king. Hollinger, even though I think his system is a little lame, makes 6.09 mpg the breaking point. Hollinger's worst guy is Jason Collings, but under those rules he only rates 302 players. 30 teams, 12 player rosters (let's not count excess contracts) makes 360, that's a lot of DNP Coach Decisions out there.

Man...Doleac has a jumper, but you add in the knees and the age and I think Yi's chair is a better defender. This is tough (out of curiousity, was there anyone in that game you're watching that made you think of this?).

Is Joseph Forte and his 1/15 shooting and 8 turnovers still in the league (I know he's not).

Scalabrine is pretty bad.

I definitely considered Scalabrine. However, he hustles and gives effort like Madsen... but he also has three point range. Madsen barely has 3 foot range. Therefore, Scal shouldn't be discussed because he can actually shoot.

I think Doleac is in the same category as Scal. A bad player, but still slightly better than Madsen. Doleac doesn't have three point range like Scal, but he can shoot the mid range shot and make a few things happen in the lane.

Jason Collins is a good choice too. I forgot about him. 26 points and 54 rebounds in 430 total minutes so far this year. But he does have 67 fouls lol.

It's harder than one would think to pinpoint the truly most atrocious players. The reason I was thinking of this was because halfway through the first quarter of the Spurs - Lakers game it was like 7 to 4 or something. Just terrible shots and boring basketball. To be fair, both Duncan and Parker were out. Also, I had to watch Matt Bonner play and I couldn't for the life of me imagine how the heck he dropped 25 points and 17 boards last game.

I think it has to be Fransisco Elson, for reasons that should be pretty clear to all of us.
