John Hollinger writes about some guys who could be traded before the dealine...
RICKY DAVIS, HEAT, AND KURT THOMAS, SONICS: These two are veterans stuck on teams going nowhere, with Thomas the more coveted of the two because of his knack for post defense. But they're harder for teams to acquire because they already have expiring contracts. Teams will need to throw in a draft choice or a desirable young player to pry them loose, which probably makes the asking price too high for most.
Why on earth would Ricky Davis be hard to acquire. Given the fact the Miami is going nowhere I'd think that if they could get anything in return they'd take it. I can't imagine that letting Ricky's contract go off the books would make a significant difference in Miami being able to sign a big free agent.
Another nugget from this article
RON ARTEST, KINGS: He's a free agent after the season, and there's no guarantee that he wants to stay in Sacramento. In fact, the New York native played for Isiah in Indy and has made noises about coming to MSG for the mid-level exception, which would be the last step in making the Knicks a full-fledged three-ring circus.
please, please, please can this happen. A starting lineup involving Artest, Marbury, Curry and Randolph is something out of fiction. It might force NBA live add a craziness metric to the player ratings to improve realism.
