So 24 hours of mediation in the books and more today. It is encouraging that owner meetings have been shuffled around. That can't be bad, can it? If Stern comes to the table today with a reasonable revenue sharing plan (which I have learned, interestingly, is actually NOT part of the CBA but the NBPA is fighting for it to be) we could see some progress.

I'm optimistic.

Also....with a 6-7pt rollback in BRI I thought player salaries would roll back the 12% or so with it. According to Berger, this is not the case. Read this:

I'm confused now, personally, after thinking all this time a Lower BRI would mean lower salaries. Berger does forget the amnesty though which basically nulls this entire article instantly and easily. I like Berger but he spends a little too much time cooking up ideas he probably doesn't know enough about. Most of this stuff is probably created in spreadsheets during the stakeout sessions and not sourced material.

Just saw on espn that this was the worst day yet in negotiations and the lockout will most likely never end

Looks like things are definitely doomed, and I'd guess there won't be a season at this point. David Aldridge said he wouldn't be surprised if TWO seasons were cancelled and the NBA didn't start again until November of 2013. My god....
