I'm interested to see that Clippers game tonight.

Mavs got beat up by the Heat. Odom got ejected. At least Bosh still sucks

Celtics started Sasha Pavlobrick  No wonder they lost.

The Lakers had Devin Ebanks and Josh McRoberts in their starting lineup for the 1st game

Rose is a beast

Tyson Chandler w/ 6 blocks

Hahahaha at the Lakers! Hopefully they suck this year. Unfortunately, I think the C's are gonna have a rough year with injuries/age/no depth.

Looks like the cHeat are much deserved favorites to win it all. Holy cow they were playing amazing (from what I read and the highlights I saw.)

I just started the Thunder-Magic game, but am just as excited for the Clippers as well. Too bad they aren't playing a better team than the crappy Warriors.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

The Nuggets up by 30 against the Mavs

Why the hell didn't they try to get a center like Dalembert or someone? I can't believe they're going to roll with Haywood and Mahinmi. Fail.

Thoughts on the Christmas games, keeping in mind that offense should look pretty bad for most teams:

Knicks/Celtics:
- The Knicks look decent. They've got to integrate a bunch of new pieces and BDiddy wasn't there yet. They'll be good, but there still aren't enough pieces. I don't think they'll even beat this Celtics team in the playoffs.
- Celtics, without their best player, were solid. Ya'll know Rondo is my favorite PG so I'm glad he looks to be on a mission. I hope he transforms this year to be in that class with Rose, Williams, and CP3. KG and Allen don't look to have lost a step. Does anyone else doubt that Bass is a clear upgrade from Baby? Dwight Howard will realize this...Once Pierce comes back, even without Green I bet they still pull off an eastern semi-finals run because Pietrus (if healthy) is a fine role player to spell pierce and Ray for 20-25 minutes of solid play. P.S. Chris Wilcox is my dude. Don't know why. I just always have liked him. Clearly I disagree with CW. They have as much depth as anyone else not named the MN Timberwolves...They'll be same as last year - good team but not a contender.

Mavericks/cHeat:
- Hopefully Spoelstra realizes they need to start Haslem and sit Bosh because he's too soft. The cHeat look ready for the season. They'll have a great regular season, probably best in the league. I don't see them pacing themselves at all (wishful thinking maybe?). Haslem is basically a new addition considering he wasn't really with them in full force last year. He's an underrated piece to this puzzle. they will rarely need a true center (Can the Magic even get past the 1st round? They are trash) and Haslem, Bosh, Lebron, Battier, and Wade is a stupid defensive team that most teams will just have to throw in the towel against (except the Wolves because we have the Lebron/Wade stopper in Malcolm Lee).
- The Mavs weren't ready yet. They have far too many new pieces to figure out. If, if, if they are to contend it will take awhile for them to gel. What happened to Stevenson? Just realized he went to NJ. Let's get this straight now. Teams can't win unless they have 2-3 a$$holes on the team. They set the tone, get the team focused, and keep the opposition's anxiety level higher than it otherwise would be. You don't think that teams aren't a bit more tight playing a$$holes like KG, Perkins, Haslem, Stevenson, etc.? It helps and matters. The Mavericks have instantly become a very "Nice" team without Chandler, Barea, and Stevenson.
(just saw they are getting blown out again...haha!)

Lakers/Bulls
- Kobe is a primadona again, he ain't hurt. I can't figure this team out from one game. I need to see what they are up to...
- The Bulls should have traded Boozer for a respectable 2 guard and started Taj. Whatever. Rip will help them. I got a two guard to sell them and his name is Wes...Wes for Asik - no questions asked. I really enjoy something about teams like the Celtics and Bulls who just play hard, talent and skill be damned. They have pieces that gel together and it makes for fun basketball to watch. Glad to see the Bulls win.
- Wait...did the Lakers go ANOTHER offseason without addressing point guard? WTF? How hard is it to get a competent PG?

Thunder/Magic
- Didn't watch much of this. Of course the Thunder won. I seriously don't think the Magic will make the playoffs this year (never mind, they are in the east).

I don't like the Celtics bench. Bass is a clear upgrade over Big Baby and a fine backup PF, but the rest of the bench is just ok. JON and Wilcox are their centers, which is really bad for a team that fancies themselves a contender. Their wing depth is pretty underwhelming with Pietrus and Daniels.

There is nothing to figure out about the Lakers. 3/5ths of their starting lineup wouldn't even start for the Wolves. Fisher, Ebanks, and McRoberts  That's just brutally awful. Their bench is nonexistent with the exceptions of Artest and Barnes.

Ahhhhhhahaha oh man the Mavs look like garbage. I can't believe Tyson Chandler was that important to their team. But they also lost JJB and Caron Butler as well though.

....... or maybe the Nuggets are just THAT GOOD. Just like I said. ;)

I love Daddy's recap posts. Such good NBA knowledge being dropped. Especially since we all can't watch every game. It's good to read what a smart NBA mind thinks about stuff.

Need to wait and see with the C's. I think they are trouble though with the compressed schedule. Rondo needs to step his game up to a higher notch if they have any chance at competing. I think he's capable of it though. He's still one of the best PG's in the entire league.

The Mavs are in real trouble this season.

Bwahahahahaha the Lakers lost again tonight to the Kings! And they play the Jazz tomorrow on a back-to-back-to-back. I hope they start 0-3. That's so awesome. Imagine if the Fakers AND Magic didn't make the playoffs? BEST. NBA. SEASON. EVER.

Trade the Lakers Puke Ridnour and Wes for... I dunno, anything? How has this not happened yet? Couldn't we have given them those two for Odom? WTF KAHN?!?!?!?!?!

Ok, so far in 3 games LeBron and D-Wade have shot a combined ZERO three pointers. I guarantee they are doing some weird experiment/joke/funny thing where they can see how long they can go without even attempting a single 3 pointer. Didn't they talk about it in the off-season, that they needed to "not shoot as many threes" this year? Or something?

I am intrigued for when they finally talk about this little scheme of theirs.

I think Howard going to the cesspool of the nets is dead and buried...With Bynum playing the best basketball of his career, that's the only option that makes sense.. Unless Dwight decides to just stick it out with Orlando for the remainder of the year. They aren't playing half bad either

Just finally read Daddy's post. Excellent.

I think 2 teams to discuss are Denver and Memphis.

Wow, Denver. What is happening there? Ripped hard on Britt for ranking them 5th in the L but they are looking stellar. Why?! Haven't seen any of their games because they are always blowing teams out by 30 points and there are other nailbiters to attend to on League Pass. Plus, I generally only catch the late west coast games after 10 when all is settled in the WW household.

After seeing Memphis last night, I touched on this in the game thread, but I just don't see them having the same success as last year, with or without Randolph. Gasol has always been less than remarkable to me. Gay is hit or miss, but hit as of late. I see it as a one year fluke. '08 Warriors. Just a hunch. Wolves will beat them next time. Thoughts?

Likewise just catching up on this thread... but seriously CW? You want us to trade Luke and Wes for ANOTHER Combo Forward??? Odom is good, yes, but unless you are able to move Beasley (difficult for reasons posted elsewhere) it puts you in the same position we were in with Big Al where everyone knows we need to trade Derrick Williams and noone is looking to send us anything of value.

The only way that this would have made sense is if Kahn pulled off my Beasley + Pekovic to Philadelphia for Iguodala trade.
