He has some good trades on there and it is quite entertaining

sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/index...p;entryDate=20080220

Twolves trade he concocted:

TRADE 5: Philly trades Andre Miller, Reggie Evans, Calvin Booth and Kevin Ollie to Minnesota for Theo Ratliff's Expiring Contract, Sebastian Telfair, Chris Richard and Craig Smith.

At first glance I wouldn't do it, I'd have to sleep on it though

I've been working on the Trade Machine as well:

Minnesota trades Antoine Walker and Theo Ratliff to Los Angeles for Kobe Bryant.

It works moneywise, how can the Lakers afford NOT to do this trade?

Pretty good article.

I wouldn't do that trade without Thad Young or Louis Williams. Gotta have at least one of the two.

I still like the Wolves trades I concocted in my first Mailbag...
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

If you add Thad Young to the trade it'd be a slam dunk, but that doesn't make any sense for the 76ers.

I wouldn't make this trade. I do think it makes the wolves a little better over the next year and a half, but that does nothing for me. If the wolves are going to be contendors again it won't be Andre Miller running things.

Any trade the wolves make need to get back young players. Any way you slice it the wolves are 3 years from being a contender (both because they need new players and they need some current guys to get old ). If they could trade Theo for a crap contract that will be done in 2-3 years and a guy with potential (must be taller than 6' 5'') that'd be a success.

I'm not holding my breath.

And I suppose you are going to make us go track down that Mailbag from the archives. ;)

I just read the Sid note from the front page...
Wittman said there are no plans to trade Ratliff, who is a free agent at the end of this year. \"We are going to hold on to Theo and see what he can do,\" Wittman said.

That sounds like the same logic I used when i fixed the fixed a bunch of crap on my Mazda 626 instead of trading it in... a few weeks later my head gasket blew and I had nothing.

BS. Unless it is going to put you way under the cap it doesn't do any good to let contracts expire (saves the owner money, but doesn't help you get a better team). What has happened over the last 3 years to make any rational person believe that Theo can play for any other team than the Terrel Brandon/Michael Williams all-stars?

Man. We are on the same page today. I just read that over lunch break and was gonna post about it too...

110% pure BS is what it is. So lame. Just like when they let Spreewell's contract expire. Sigh. :(

LOL...Well you could dream...I suppose nothing is wrong with that...

Are you really saying that the money of Ratlif and Walker = Kobe??? LOL...if that is the truth the front office of the Wolves is even more inept than I ever could have imagined...

We didn't sign Theo or Walker to either of those contracts, so I'm not sure what you're getting at...

Just think about it for a second. They get rid of Kobe, who's over the hill and gets paid way too much. If they did this deal, they could tell 'toine that he is the missing piece to their championship team and start him.

They would surely lead the league in shimmys.

Also in aquiring Theo they would lead the league in corpses.

Slam dunk trade for both teams.
