Still a better name than the Thunder.

EXACTLY what I told my roommate. He replied with, "but when I think of Thunder I think of the sound of a herd of buffalo, like their mascot, which is one of the best." Daddy's response: "Shut the fuck up. Because then their name should be 'the OKC Buffalo', which also is dumb. You are dumber than that name is."

End of story.

HAHAHAHA that made me laugh.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Damn Z-Bo got 38 points, 22 rebounds tonight. Are we absolutely sure Love is the best PF in the league?

Pretty sure that way back when we ranked positions, I said that Z-Bo was the best PF in the league (before his surgery.) He's clearly back to normal now, and I'd rank him as the #1 PF. I have no problems putting Love #2 though.

Z-Bo is just an absolute beast.

BWHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yet another epic Fakers 4th quarter collapse! I love it more than life! (Well not really, but ALMOST.)

Good one Kobe... you should probably take more than 31 shots next game. Keep chucking away and costing your team games, LOLOL.

Wait, the Lakers lost? Jeez they are terrible MP. I wish the Wolves played them tomorrow instead.

Losing consistently with Kobe and Howard (not to mention everyone else they get to stock pile)?! Zero excuse.

And it sounds like Pau is past big boy pants and has moved on to old man pants. I guess someone will come in and bail them out in taking old man knees off their hands.

Howl to Greg Smith. You can't exactly go McHale clothesline today, but he got a nice hand to Kobe's face on that one drive to put him down. For one night there had to be a little happiness in the McHale home.

ahhhhahahahaha at the Lakers. I am loving it. Howard is such a waste of talent. Kobe isn't even that mad because he is averaging 28 ppg. Pau is checked out. Nash is MIA.

Merry Prankster, where you at?! I need your thoughts. And I want them on the present, not the past or the future.

Z-Bo is so underrated. In the same league of underrated as Tony Parker, Paul Pierce, and Andre Miller. I know I'm missing somebody to round out my Underrated Starting 5. Enh, I'll put my boy Joakim in there today. Pecker hasn't been good enough yet this year.

I actually don't mind the Pelicans. They just need pink unis now.

Aloha, BonK! And, to CW & DFS, as well!

Yeah, the Lakers aren't playing with any sort of consistency right now. Blowing a 16-pt halftime lead the other night was pretty much unconscionable. Then, they come back the next game and annihilate their opponent.

Kobe is Kobe. You can criticize him all you want, but he does what he needs to do. Besides, any of you would love to have him putting up 28 a night for you. Incidentally, Stephen A. commented yesterday that Kobe is actually shooting less this year than last.

Howard is still getting into NBA-shape and working on getting his game back. I don't know what the issues are with Pau, but, in the meantime, Jamison has stepped up pretty well.

Biggest problem is that they are playing with the 3rd string PG. Obviously, this is not the team - without Nash - anyone anticipated. His broken leg was about as freakish an accident as Rubio's knee. They don't even have Blake to fall back on.

I have been saying, I'm not going to worry about it until Jan. Let's see how they are playing then, when they have their entire roster of players available.

Agreed. I think it's one of those names that will get better over time too. I've already started calling them the Pelicans.

Now Charlotte needs to take back the Hornets name and it's a win-win. Bobcats is one of the worst names in the league.

I saw a Robertcat about an hour outside of the city this past summer. He was climbing up a steep, rocky hill next to the highway. Ever since then, the name has been legit to me.

However, the city is soooo excited about getting the "Hornets" back. There will instantly be more buzz for the team (no pun intended). I see hipster teens with Hornets gear at least once a week. Serious. the Hornets have a huge cult following.

MJ said he is on top of it, it's just going to take awhile now. They need to bring back the striped jerseys then too, and then have someone resurrect Grandmama. They don't have the personality though, yet. Grandmama could be the next installment in the Uncle Drew series!

Brilliant idea for resurrecting Grandmama!

Spent time in Russia in the '90's and Hornets gear was what you saw everywhere.

How about if Jordan arranges a showdown between a pack of Robertcats and a bunch of hornets to decide which way to go?

Oh man, I'm quite glad, where got rid of THIS guy:

"Beasley Frustrated, Bewildered By Struggles
Dec 07, 2012 10:26 AM EST

Michael Beasley entered Thursday's loss to by the Phoenix Suns to the Dallas Mavericks with the NBA's worst cumulative plus/minutes (-136) while shooting 37.4 percent.

“I don’t know what it is,” Beasley said of his struggles. “I come in every game optimistic about my play and my shots. It’s just not good right now and it’s not what anybody’s doing. It’s all me. I’m getting extra shots. I’m getting extra shots on top of extra shots. I’ve just got to be patient. Let the game come to me. Just sort of ride it out.

“Of course I’m frustrated because I visualize myself as something I’m not right now. Not to say I can’t be. As of right now, I’m not playing as well as I want to play or can play or as well as the team needs. Yeah, I’m frustrated but like I said just got to continue to do what I’m doing, work hard and ride it out.”

Let's consider tonight's game against OKC:

Got home early in the 2nd qtr - score was 33-32, Thunder. Next thing I know, the Lakers are down 13!

So, I have the game on, but I'm not paying that much attention. Seems like every time I look up, the Thunder's lead increases by 2! OKC's lead gets to 19!

Game over. Or, so I thought.

Gets into the last 2-3 minutes of the game, LA has pulled within 5!

Yeah, they lost ultimately, but there is a moral to this story:

Fall asleep on Kobe and you may be able to turn a sure "W" into a "WTF L"!

Don't forget, the Lakers only had Kobe and Dwight on the floor tonight.

Before I am ready to concede anything, I want to see the Kobe-Dwight-Steve-Pau quartet on the floor together. That's the team I expected to be playing right now.

TMP stop trying to convince yourself that the Lakers are good, because they're not. The goal for them should be to make the playoffs and not to win the championship. Seriously, they had the easiest shedule of all teams and look at the record. Aloha!

"They had the easiest schedule of all teams." Raally? Based upon what?

No, they aren't good right now. They also are not the team any of us expected to see on the floor so far this season.

I'm reserving judgment until Nash, at least, gets healthy and starts contributing. You are going to see a whole different sort of play out there. If Gasol's knees don't heal soon and/or he gets traded, I like the way Antawn has been contributing recently. Nevertheless, I would like to see the quartet I mentioned earlier, with MWP as the fifth player, playing together.

Good Friday night of hoops. Wish I could have been watching a bunch of these games.

---OKC over LAL. Westbrook went off. Quote of the night: "Nash isn't the solution to Westbrook!" As TMP would say, Kobe kept it from being a blow out. 4-5 from 3 land.

Kobe shares the NBA record of 12 threes in a game. Which T-Wolves draft pick also did it?

---PHI OT win over Celtics. Rondo triple double already in the third! KG hits the shot that sends it to OT. Evan Turner with a nice 28-10 game and the game winner. Rondo could have won it after that, but does a weird ankle twist pull up jumper move that loses the game and hurts himself. Other than that play, Rondo is a freakin' magician with some of the shots he makes going to the hoop, not to mention his ballhandling and passes.

Who would make a better Globetrotter in the NBA than Rondo?

---GS comes back to win at Brooklyn. Bummer...they need to lose that game! David Lee with a K-Lav type game at 30-15. But Steph Curry is the man right now. 28 points. Watch highlights if you want to see some pretty 3-point shooting. 5-9 in this game. 56% in the last 6 game run, with 5 victories. They've done such a nice job in the draft with lower picks than Kahn has had. I like this team, yet don't want to see them ahead of the Wolves this year.

---The Good: Rockets (9-9) getting a loss to the Spurs.

---The Bad: Nuggets (10-10) pulling it out in Indiana. Jazz (11-10) not only getting the inevitable home win over TOR, but destroying them by 32. And that was without Big Al (Back spasms) and Favors (Plantar fasciitis).
