Kobe took an absurd FORTY-ONE shots tonight. To score only 34 points. That is just sad. I bet everyone just abhors playing with him.

And Crybaby Antoni played thirty-nine year old Nash 41 minutes in his first game back from injury???

Wow, I can't wait until they miss the playoffs!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

GOLDEN STATE!!!!!! Fighting for home court!

How long will that last? Any bets?

Funny you mentioned Golden State, DFS, as they are up 10 on my Lakers right now with about 6 min to play in the 3rd.

Right now, I have to like the Clippers chances of going deep into the playoffs. I think those chances are enhanced if they can get Billups back on the court with them some time soon. BTW, the Clippers have the second best W-L record and the best W-L on the road record in the league.

Right now, I'd take the Clippers straight up against anybody else.

I definitely did not expect the Clippers to sustain this play. Looking at their team, there is no reason they don't hold this up. They are probably a top 3 team in the west. I don't like it and hate to admit it.

MP, you definitely are going to have to face the music. Dwight Howard is simply good. He's no longer great. Surely he might get back there, but he is not the elite player he was two years ago. Gasol is "eh". Nash is good, but not great at 49 years old. Kobe is/could be pretty awesome still but he can't control himself and just jacks up dumb shots.

Kahn probably enjoying the news out of Sac-town...Cousins suspended by the team indefinitely. Anyone follow any King fan sites and have a perspective on their view of Cousins at this point?

Too bad Portland gets to face them tonight without Cousins.

Cousins is expected to hire Dan Fegan.

Fegan has had a contentious relationship at times with Sacramento Kings' general manager Geoff Petrie.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a step in the right direction.

Aloha, DFS! I wondered about the Clippers earlier in the season when they had a decent lead on a good team but blew it. Seems they have overcome that issue.

Re: the Lakers - I commented before that the Laker team we saw through most of this early part of the season was absolutely NOT the team we expected to see. While Golden State is far from one of the best teams in the league, coming back from -14 in the 4th and winning the game in OT was encouraging. Pau had a couple of assists. Howard sunk a pair of FTs in crunch time!!???!!!! MWP made several good defensive and offensive plays. Nash drained at 3 at 1:01 to tie the game - I think for the first time in the game. In addition to Kobe's 41 shots (and incidental 34 pts) he had 10 boards and 5 assists. With the way the season started, I'm not going to worry about it until about mid-Jan.

Watched the Celtics vs. the Nyets on and off. Thoughts...

Rondo + 100% effort = the Lebron of PG's. Nobody but maybe Westbrook and Rose can keep up with him except neither are as skilled. Too bad he's more likely to produce mediocre defensive efforts, ball pounding shot-clock wasting possessions, and inconsistent shooting.

Watching the Celtics without KG on the floor (aka Sullinger and Bass) is similar to Pek and Love. Those two are stronger than their counterparts but so earth bound that the athletic freaks in the NBA just soar over them too often. The difference is that the Wolves' schemes make Love and Pek meet the slashers away from the hoop. That last sentence is irrelevant to my point, which is that I'd bet the Celtics would take Steimsma back, if the Wolves can complete the pending Derrick Williams for Larry Sanders deal*.

Still not a believer in the Nyets. That team isn't build for the playoffs. We know that Joe Johnson will be the same player in the playoffs, he'll just shoot more often. We know that Deron Williams has been just better than the average PG for two years and that it's not likely he'd outplay Rondo or even Felton in the playoffs. And we know that Brook Lopez is very good but the team is too busy not giving him the ball to realize his advantage against most players in the post.

Random:
- KG was hoopin.
- Jeff Green put in the Derrick Willams best case scenario game again... :-(
- Gerald Wallace still has heart on a team full of "eh" players.

Add my props to CW's re: your post, DFS. As always, astute observations and cogent comments!

CW, quit complaining about the start time of the Celtics-Nets WHERE you are! Game started here at 7 AM. It was half over (actually, it was already over by the half) when I turned it on today. LOL!

At the beginning of football season, the East Coast games start here at 7 AM, also, until the mainland goes back to standard time. Then, we get a 1-hr break.

Sunday and Monday Night Football games are more like Happy Hour games. The sun is still up when those games end!

Merry Christmas (again)!

Oh, my! At the 12 sec mark, Gasol slams down with authority to put the Lakers up by 5! 99-94 with 8.2 to play.

Having a point guard seems to help, don't you think?

Thanks for the props, roundhouse, but I'm still waiting for January. It's still early, but this is a much different team with Kobe, Dwight, Pau and Steve on court together. Nash's contributions should be obvious to all - what's he averaging? 10 assists/game?

While I certainly like the latest results (5 Ws straight now), I still am waiting to see how good they might ultimately be.

Congrats to the Clippers - again! 14 straight! Nice.

The hell is wrong with Howard? He's so human this year. And World B. Peace is better than Gasol. Stupid ass team.

Give em Luke for Jordan Hill! Great trade.
