Odds of Winning the 2013 Title Power Ranks:

1. Miami

2. OKC
3. Clippers
4. Spurs

5. Bulls
6. Knicks

7. Lakers

Everyone else is ultimately irrelevant.

Memphis is stronger then the Bulls or Knicks. Denver too.

I presume these rankings came out before it was announced that Howard is out for the season with the shoulder injury.

Pau Gasol out at least six weeks with partial tear of plantar fascia in right foot.

Pau's a decent guy. Too bad that there is no sympathy from a Wolves fan.

With Howard having the intermittent shoulder problems and missing most of the past two weeks, Pau had stepped up admirably, especially with Kobe doing a more than passable imitation of John Stockton. Add in that the Lakers have had significant time lost due to injuries for 3/4 of the studs we expected to have on the floor from day one and you get a much less than enjoyable season.

I know you guys are having the injury issues, as well, and it doesn't seem like Rubio was quite ready to come back when he did, this season has been more than marginally frustrating to us all!

To adopt a nearly 100-YO tradition from Chicago Cubs fans, "Wait 'til next year!"

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Fakers are doomed!!! :silly: :woohoo:

Tough times MP, but I can't say I feel sorry for the Lakers! (No offense.)
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

God this season is trash. Is Stern paying attention? Shorten the season how the TwolvesBlog members suggested. It's too long, players can't handle it plus Olympics.

Twolves could be battling for the 5th seed and instead likely will miss the playoffs.
Rondo is out for the ubiquitous 2nd half comeback by the Celtics.
Howard, Gasol, and Nash injured half the year.
Danny Granger forcing the Pacers to dig themselves a 15 game hole trying to figure themselves out.
Derrick Rose.
Varejao averting his destiny (a trade to MN), due to injury.

None taken, CW!

Been tough times for several teams - not just the Lakers. No idea what is going on with the Clippers lately - didn't they do a mid-season swoon last year, too? T-Wolves have had their injury issues. So, what looked like promising seasons for all 3 have kind of faded into the sunset (Well, in MN's case, into a snowbank!).

THey should go to a 70 game schedule, that way you can get rid of all the 4 games in 5 nights scenarios and the majority of back-to-backs. There would be so many less injuries and the teams would be a lot fresher for the playoffs.

Correct, WallyWorld, but when this skid started, only CP3 was on the bench. Earlier, when he missed several games the Clippers were able to compensate. Crawford was one of those who stepped up early in the season. He hasn't maintained that early pace.

I know that many of you are Kevin Garnett fans. Watching Lakers-Celtics and KG just scored his 25,000th point in the NBA. He' only the 16th to accomplish this. He trails "Zeke from Cabin Creek" by fewer than 200 points to move up again.

Props to KG!

(This is a guy I would call a "shoo-in" for the Hall; Bosh . . . I don't think so.)

Been preaching that for years now. Man, the games would be soooo much better and more competitive. Plus I bet the amount of injuries would go down quite significantly. People's bodies get hurt/injured when they are more tired than normal. It's just a fact.

Loved that 30 point pasting of the Lakers tonight!

Don't be so overly-dramatic, CW, it was only a 21-pt pasting. The Lakers left by the half so they could make their connection from a much more important game in Charlotte on Friday.

Sooo Celtics are 6-0 without Rondo. Is the Patrick Ewing Theory in effect here?

Possibly... however the advanced stats kinda show that the Celtics appear to be playing over their heads right now. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it up.
