Kobe really is amazing at 34+ years to be doing this still. his body is in amazing shape.

Too bad it's irrelevant because if they make the playoffs they'll get destroyed.

I hope he slams a chair on Howard's back.

LOL, DFS! Can always count on you for another perspective!

BTW, I erred last night: Kobe had 7 boards and 12 assists - I had it reversed.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you two, CW & DFS, the chances of the Lakers getting into the second round, assuming they make the playoffs at all, are pretty slim. Not a bet I would make, that's for sure.

This is definitely not the team that I expected to see this season. Because of all the injuries, they have rarely had all the pieces of the puzzle together on the floor at the same time.

If their are any positives for the Lakers this season, they have to include Kobe's play, especially his increase in assists, and the play of Clark and Meeks.

To steal the line from the Cubs' fans: Wait 'til next year!

I remember when Jermaine O'Neal went downhill at like age 30 and T-Mac was perennially injured and everyone though that guys who came straight out of high school would all break down earlier in their careers. Kobe and KG thoroughly debunked that myth.

Hmmm . . . . So, can we expect LeBron to start deteriorating at the beginning of the 2015-2016 season? He will have turned 30 in Dec '14.

Even two more years of his play this year is NOT what the rest of the league wants to witness!

I hope so. If he can only go for two more years at this level that would make me happy.

The Lakers comeback was pretty crazy. Did you see how the Hornets defended the inbounds play by defending THE WRONG BASKET with like 20 seconds left? Wow.

The Clippers do not look good lately. They were my sleeper pick to win the championship this year. Paul & Blake look good but no one else is stepping up. I feel like there is no way we will get through the playoffs without some Clipper suspensions. Between Barnes, Butler, Odom, Blake, D'Andre, Hollins...someone is getting cheap shotted at some point, no question.

The Nuggets are so fun to watch lately. Just from entertainment value alone, Brewer is one of the most fun dudes to watch. Wilson Chandler continues to be so underrated. Ditto for Dre Miller, that guy is so crafty. Iggy is such a solid all around player who is easy to root for. George Karl is cool. McGee is a riot to watch. I think when the playoffs come around I'm going to be jumping on that Denver bandwagon, at least a little bit.

Oh, and I used to dislike Gallo cuz I thought he was just another soft Euro pansy (he might be), but at the Nuggets/Cavs game I went to in January he had the 2nd coolest big shot celebration I've ever seen live (nothing beats Sammy C's big ball dance in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semis). So now even Galinari has a soft place in my heart.

Oh, and Faried. THE MANIMAL. How can you not like that guy. Rocky the mascot, the short trainer who used to have really long dreads and is now going with the metro look, Ty Lawson zooming all over. The Nuggets are kind of awesome.

Also, did you see McGee fake autograph the basketball after he swatted it into the stands last night? Did you see a few months ago when he made that 3 and did the whole stir your drink & lick your fingers celebration? Hilarious.

Okay I'm done with my Nuggs rants now.

Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Perspective: Kobe - 17 yrs now in the NBA. What is he? Fifth all-time in scoring, has done something nearly inconceivable in that his assists per game has gone up by more than 3-4 per game.

Flash: You hate Kobe so much? I'll take him. You get any other player who might be available. That doesn't mean you get LeBron - you get whomever is left.

Yeah, I'm picking and both James and Bryant are available? It ain't my first rodeo, Bubba!

I'm picking and LeBron is gone but Kobe is available? Are you stupid?

You want a player who will drag your club kicking and screaming into the playoffs?

I got a name for your!

They won't make it past the second round - not a chance - if they manage to get that far.

But, if I can't have LeBron, I can take Kobe.

Aloha prankster!
Noone likes Kobe and Lakers, except the Lakers fans.
He's still a good player, never said he isn't.

Yea MP, this is the wrong site to argue about Kobe's skill. Clearly he's one of the best ever. I don't even consider his off the court antics. It is his complete and utter lack of respect for his fellow human that I disdain. He is so arrogant I seriously would never attempt to have a conversation with him. The way he treats (or treated, maybe he has matured) his teammates, the way he plays without attempting to involve his players, and the way he carries himself as if he is above the rest of the population is something I want nothing to do with.

On another note. Looks like Houston is still going to pursue Dwight or Bynum (plan B) this summer, in addition to Josh Smith. So that means they would ship out Asik. Favoritism aside for Pek as a human being, I'd try to get in on a three or four-team deal to send Pek someone resigned and to get Asik in return. His defense is so absolutely elite it is worth it to me, if Pekovic is commanding 12, 13, 14 million a year. Thoughts?

Then I'll trade Love to Boston for Courtney Lee and Avery Bradley (yes I realize this is irrational Flash, I'm obsessed with defense, leave me alone).

Asik, D-Charge, AK, Bradley, Rubio with Shved, HAM, Lee and whoever off the bench. DEFENSE!
