According to ESPN.com, the Vikes have agreed to a deal with their former backup.

This move should really push us over the top... :(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Yeah, I think a buddy of mine summed it up best in an email:

\"He [Frerrotte] couldn't succeed in handing the ball off to Stephen Jackson and throwing to Tori Holt.\"

I'm really starting to hate being a MN sports fan, the place where potential uberstars go to be overlooked, underappreciated (unless they're white, high-energy guys with no discernable skill) and surrounded with has-beens and never-will-bes.

What did anyone expect them to do at QB? They weren't going to bring in a big-name backup, because that would be admitting that Jackson was a mistake...they weren't going to do that.

They weren't going to try to draft a top rated qb in the draft for the same reason...the only move they were ever going to do was sign an experienced guy, who wasn't good enough to be considered \"competition\" for Jackson.

I'm not saying I agree with what they've done, but it's exactly the move that anyone whose followed the team the last couple of years would expect.

Yup, and that's exactly what I said - This team looks to its past to solve its future. I'm surprised they didn't go get Daunte after Childress said he regretted how they handled it. It's like the calls in the mid-90s for Bud Grant again OR, like the early 80s when he retired, they hired Les Steckel, fired him and rehired Bud Grant.

If you're looking for someone washed up to hold a clipboard, at least get the Gunslinger.

I totally agree with you...besides the Wild...they rule!!!

However back the negativity of the MN sports scene...specifically the Vikes...They seem to make all the wrong moves...I mean yes they did draft AP...but found away to use him wrong for half the season...And it is a real possibility he will be traded or unsigned due to the \"sall market\" tag or a cap casualty...

Just like the Twins...getting rid of Hunter and Santana in the same year is absurd and than expecting us to come to the dome cheering our beloved Twins Territory team...It is funny how absurd the announcers can be too as many comparrisons of the first game to Rickey Henderson to Carlos Gomez...STOP WITH THE MADNESS...or Slowey to Radke...or Mauer as the second coming...

I want this towns teams to be competitive and actually win a title or two...enough of the rebuilding...

Thank God for the sports television packages you can buy on Comcast like NBA season pass...and I bought the MLB package this year because I think the Twins are going to be REALLY tough to watch...

Sorry for the long rant but you hit a nerve...

I love that the Twins signed Nathan to a 4 year deal when he had a ton of trade value. It especially makes no sense after we traded Johan and let Silva and Hunter walk. Wtf???

It's a reject number that you can give out to people when they ask for your phone number. It's hilarious.

I don't know what you're talking about with the Vikes when you say they \"make all the wrong moves\" In recent years they've had a lot of success in the draft as well as generally make smart free agency moves.

Since when are we we not going to re-sign AP? I wasn't aware of the fact that there are small market teams in the NFL, seeing as how every team has exactly the same amount of money to spend.

If you're going to talk markets, talk about the Twins. You couldn't actually believe that they would re-sign Santana and Hunter did you? That's the way it works in baseball, the Twins just don't have the revenue stream of the Yankee, Mets, and RedSoxes of the world. Do you know more about Carlos Gomez and Slowey than Blyleven and Bremer? I doubt it. Let them compare, who cares.

If any of the Minnesota teams deserves some blame, it's the Twolves. They are incapable of making the right move, and in almost 20 years of this franchise, have one and only one proud moment: drafting KG. Besides that, it makes it really hard to be a Twolves fan when they have no idea who to draft, no idea how to run a team, and generally just no idea.

Well you have drank the \"This is Twins Territory\" Kool-Aide...They are building a stadium...based on Tax payer dollars...we don't have a say??? We don't get a chance to \"sound off\"??? I say to heck with that...The Twins could certainly have signed one of the two...they just let Hunter walk and get NOTHING in return and to compare Gomez to Ricky Henderson in his first plate appearance is homerness gone mad...that is what Gladden said as I was driving home on opening night through the snowstorm we were having...

The bottom line...the Twins are banking on people like you saying...we are just a small market and we can't afford to compete year after year...because for the first 5-10 years the Twins are going to put a AAA club with Mauer and other aging washed up vets...but we have outdoor baseball...HOGWASH...

The Twins signed their closer...big deal...for a few million more they could have signed Hunter or Santana and keep a competitive team on the field...Now we continue the circle of Twins Territory
