So, it is official, the Vikes traded a fourth-round draft choice for Sage Rosenfels, whom they signed to a 2 yr extension worth $9 million.

A lot of people will not like this pick-up. Tom Powers sure as hell didn't and lays into the Vikes FO for signing 'another mediocre QB', in todays Pioneer Press.

I disagree. He may not be a great quarterback, but he's a vast improvement over Frerotte and will push Tarvaris...anyways, I saw him play a couple times, he looked alright, he's got balls, and a decent arm...

Considering who's out there and our more pressing needs in the draft, i.e. cb, center, guard...
this seems good.

Also, did anyone hear that T.J Houshmanzadeh said the Vikes were on his short list of where he'd like to play?! odds are, we can't afford him, or wouldn't drop the large sum he figures to make...

I am very against this trade/extension signing. I think it makes no sense. So now we have 3 mediocre QB's instead of 2? Really? Is Sage an upgrade over Gus or TJack? How are we going to figure out who should play/start? I think this sucks, and just makes a muddy situation even muddier. Yuck.

Not impressed, this really doesn't solve our problems at QB. I would have rather us signed Jeff Garcia and draft a guy like Freeman out of KState.

He is a mediocre QB, but at least he's not Gus. I'm not entirely happy, but there wasn't much else out there and we can't be throwing high draft picks at QBs this year, we have other holes to fill.
