1) Mike McCarthy
2) Bill Belicheck
3) Wade Phillips
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Agreed.

Before the season I predicted Tomlin.

Not a terrible choice if they wouldn't have lost those games against the Jets and Cardinals... I'd probably put him 4 or 5 as is.

That's definitely the order, given what the Packers were predicated to be.

Here's two honorable mentions for guys that did more with what they've got than they should have:

1) Dick Jauron - the Bills had no business getting 5 wins at this season at all, much less with 5 right now. They've been very good at home (should have beaten the Broncos and Cowboys).

2) Jack Del Rio - Here's a coach that knows when it's time to cut the strings off of guys that just won't contribte (Leftwich). He's shown good decision making with when to use Fred Taylor. (Did you see Taylor's 50 yard TD run? I didn't think he still had that kind of speed).

If the Pats go undefeated and Belichick doesn't win that award, it's a crock. Teams exceed expectations every year. Only one team in NFL history has gone undefeated. The spygate thing will probably keep him out of the running, but you can't say anyone did a better job if they run the table.

You're probably right. The only thing... everyone expected the Patriots to be AWESOME this year. I mean, they were my pick to win it all the day they got Moss (not to mention all the other guys.)

The Packers on the other hand... I thought they would blow chunks. I don't think you could find anyone in the pre-season (except some crazy Packer fans) that thought the Packers would be 10-2 at this point. However, if you told me during the pre-season that the Patriots would be undefeated at week 13, I would have said \"yeah, that's possible.\"

Still, I see your point and BB should probably be coach of the year if they go undefeated. However, it the Packers don't lose another game... that would make it a tough decision.

Yeah, I'm not taking anything away from McCarthy as he did take a team that was supposed to be bad and made them a Super Bowl contender. It's just that kind of stuff happens every year in the NFL thanks to parity. You could say the same thing for Romeo Crennel and the Browns. Some teams are just going to be surprising.
