I don't look at mocks either. Mike Tomlin called my cell phone earlier today and we were just chatting about who they wanted to take. That's how I knew.

I told ya'll. I knew he wouldn't lie to me.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Word. Hook Cody up with some Starcaps and he'll be good to go. Picking up another DT would be wise seeing as how Fat Pat is like 80 years old.

We really need a safety, but their are no good ones left besides Taylor "I can only run in a straight line" Mays.

I'd rather have Clausen still there at our pick, and then some team that really wants him trade with us to move up.

Then we still end up with the guy we want all along and get an extra pick out of it.

Wow, Howl to you.

I was guessing Clausen would be the pick because at the time of the trade the teams between 30-34 weren't taking a QB. Pete Bercich is on the FAN right now and I don't think so anymore. He said the top 30 guys on their draft board are gone and that they might move down again.

Drafting QB is so unlike every other position. You draft a guy at the top of the 2nd and you figure he'll be an alright starter. You draft a QB in top 3 rounds and you pretty much have to believe they will be a star.

The Vikings have 6 picks in the top 5 rounds, 9 total. How many more players can you add? I'd guess they'll be consolidating later.

I didn't know if we'd take him or not.

However, I LOVE the trade down. No complaints here. We move down only two spots, get an extra fourth rounder, and something else too? Anyways, those first few picks at the top of the second round are going to be SOLID GOLD. Teams will see guys available they still like overnight and tomorrow, and I believe they will greatly overpay to move back up to nab them.

Cody would be a sweet pick. I would like that if we don't trade #34.

I can't believe the Lions passed on Dez Bryant at #2. You can never draft enough WR's...

The draft just wasn't the same without the Lions making retarded picks. Thank god we still have the Raiders.

More specifically you can never draft enough WR's in the first round who managed to get themselves banned from football the previous year. Give a guy like that $2M bucks and BAM... responsible adult.

Only $2M? I was hoping he'd get like $40M... BAM, instant unintentional entertainment.

Yep so true. I bet Clausen & McCoy go right away in the 2nd round because teams have all night to try and trade up to the top of the 2nd.

That's the only thing I like about the new draft format. It just wasn't the same watching it as it used to be. NFL Draft Saturday used to be like a frickin national holiday where you just lay on the couch all day or hang out with friends and drink beer. It's been ruined for me.

When it was moved from the morning I hated it. This was the first year since that I've followed it closely. I actually think I prefer this as an adult since I can no longer sit around and watch the draft for hours.

I'll cheer on the trade when I see the players the trade turns into. This front office has been very very good at drafting 1st round talent and poor drafting 2nd round talent (Sidney Rice being the exception).

Jimmy Clausen should really punch Brady Quinn in the nads. Quinn had a 4th round college career only to use up the last of the Notre Dame glitz and get bumped to the 1st round. If Quinn had been OK for the Browns Clausen would have been taken.

Man, looking at the players left... there are a lot of studs available! Very deep draft.

I hope we take Cody or Taylor Mays. Taylor was a freak at USC ,and he was a projected as a top ten pick by some people. Plus had the best combine.

Who knows about EJ Henderson coming back and playing, so Sergio Kindle could be a good pick too. I would love any of those three. Hell, it would be sweet if we traded back up and got 2 of them.

Interesting stuff about the Vikings from yesterday, and who they like in Round 2:

saw espn showing some clips of Kindle and I like what I see. IF we still have the pick by 5 o clock thats who I want the vikings to draft. But i still think we will be trading down a couple more spots because I think the bills will want to move up to get Clausen or Mccoy.

One of the teams that wants Clausen/McCoy will probably trade with the Rams to get the 1st pick, because they obviously don't need a QB now.
