Going into yesterday i was fairly confident that the vikings were going to draft a cornerback, but now that we signed Lito Sheppard(Another eagles player)(vikings where past eagles players can reunite with chilly)theres no way we draft cornerback with #30. So to me now it comes down to either a QB for the future, Defensive Line, or Safety. If we go QB i'm hoping it's Colt Mccoy because the guy wins football games. If we go safety i'm assuming it will by Taylor Mays from USC. I don't know any DE,DT that could fall to us late in the first round so i'm leaning towards S or QB for the vikings tonight.

Tebow > Colt McCoy. I hate to say it but I'm more interested in finding out which city is getting the Tebow circus than who the Vikings pick. The DL Cody from Alabama has been lower than I expected in mocks. I'd love the Vikes to move up (or down) to get him. He could be very nice in the mix with Pat Williams. He'd be learning from the master.

That's fine with me.

I just do NOT want Tebow on our team. Anyone but him. Please.

We'd have the two most interesting players in the NFL on our team. The down-shot of that is that I LOVE watching the Vikings at noon on Sundays. Way too many night games in the Favre era.

All that said my gut says that Chili will stay veteran at QB. I'd expect the next QB to come McNabb style. If Chili is set on going young I'd see him do it like KC did with Matt Cassell. The rest of the team is too veteran to be giving a QB his start.

Yeah, I do agree with you there. So hopefully that means no Tebow.

Part of me wishes we could get a young stud future franchise QB and roll with him (not Tebow though), but its just not feasible with the makeup of our entire roster, as you stated.

Tebow blows ass. I do not want the Tebow circus here in Minny.

I don't really like the Lito Sheppard signing. He's old and not very good anymore. The team must have a lot of faith in Asher Allen and Benny Sapp, because Winfield is old and injury prone and Cedric Griffin is coming off that torn ACL.

So since we're not drafting a CB anymore, what do we take? A lot of mocks have us taking Pouncey, who's an OL. All the best DL will be off the board.

If we really wanted to fill the biggest hole on our team, we'd trade all the way up into the Top 10 and take Eric Berry. Our safeties are the weakest point of our team and having the next Ed Reed there for the next 10 years would be huge.

Zero percent chance Pouncey is there at #30. Teams love him, and the Steelers would absolutely draft him if he somehow falls to them.

I'd love to trade up for Berry though.

I haven't looked at any mock drafts lately. I didn't know he was moving up. Before, pretty much every mock had us taking either Pouncey or Devin McCourty.

I don't look at mocks either. Mike Tomlin called my cell phone earlier today and we were just chatting about who they wanted to take. That's how I knew.

Brad Childress called me the other day and said he's going to work on not being so terrible at clock management and play calling. Don't believe everything those coaches say.

He also said that they'll probably draft Brett Favre's lawnmower in the 2nd round so that he'll want to come back and play another season. I believe him on this.

That would be a steal for the lawnmower. I hope it drops that far.

Both Peter King and Don Banks have the Vikings taking Tebow in their final mock drafts.

On the bright side, Peter King is never right about anything.

I'd hope the 1st round pick wasn't going to be made based on a few games with Cedric not a full strength OR because we signed Lito Shephard for 1 year.

The second the consensus became Tebow to the Vikings I breathed a sign of relief.
