I can't believe I forgot to make this thread before the game... doh!

Anyhow, I thought we were gonna win, but that it would be much closer.

I was thinking something like Vikes: 17 Atlanta 13.

Today's game was a very pleasant surprise. Very nice to see. Our defense totally rocked hard. Adrian Peterson for ROY, no doubt. I've never liked Chester Taylor, so I was kinda glad he got injured and left the game to tell you the truth. Blah blah blah I hope he's ok and all that though. We will need a second back so that AP can last the season.

The offense was still kinda bland and overly conservative, but it got the job done. Tavaris wasn't asked to win the game for us, which is what we need. He did what he needed to for the win. Some bad throws, but got lucky they weren't intercepted. His long ball is still pretty bad, but the his short and timing routes were solid. That was nice to see.

Once again our defense outscores the offense though, lol.

Any other thoughts on the Vikes or any other week 1 games?
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Most Exciting: Denver over Buffalo
Most Dominating: Pats over Jets
Biggest Upset: Tennessee over Jacksonville
Best \"Fantasy Stats\" game: Dallas vs Giants
Biggest \"Letdown/Boring\" game: TIE - Colts vs Saints and Bears vs Chargers

Monday Night Predictions:

San Fran -3 vs Arizona
Baltimore +3 vs Cincy

I'll make a post like this after the Sunday games every week. Feel free to comment.

I think the COlts dominated the Saints more than the Pats dominated the Jets.

The Saints offense looked like stagnant turds the entire game. The Jets at least had a few drives where they looked sharp, and it didn't help that Pennington was hobbling around.

True, good point. However, the Colts were at home and are defending Superbowl Champs... ya kinda gotta expect them to be a good team. However, their defense did step it up huge after losing a lot of guys. No one knew if the Pats would be dominant or not with their off-season acquisitions. Still, the Colts would have probably been my second choice for \"most dominant.\"

Vikes played awesome and I am more than happy with their performance. As they showed, they will get their opportunities and they will take advantage of them. As Jackson becomes more comfortable within the game, things will develop. Same with Peterson. This is going to be a fun season. I am excited.

I don't think anyone can say that the Colts or Patriots were more dominating and be certain about it. Those were two very solid performances.

However, Indy was at home and the Patriots were on the road. But like I said, too close to call. And does it really matter anyway? Week 9 will be the true deciding moment.

I agree with that, two very solid performances indeed. I was thinking it would be a close game between Vikes and Falcons, too! I did not expect that but I guess the Falcon's QB is Joey Harrington now. A writer from Atlanta was blaming it all on the offensive line but I think that's going a little too far. ITS JOEY HARRINGTON!!! Bet Bill Simmons wishes he could recant his Falcons backing now.

Packers over Iggles was a pretty big upset IMO. I guess any team lead by Vince Young has a shot at winning!!

If I was a betting man I'd take SF and moneyline on Ravens.

I can't lie, the Vikings impressed me. I'm not big on them this year, but their defense was AWESOME and AP was really good too. Color me impressed.

The Superfreak - he's baaaaack!!

Bears O is so bad and their D is so good. Colts/Pats/Chargers are 3 realllly solid teams. What happened to the Eagles? Cincinati's offense rocks. Arizona is explosive, but looks like a gong show overall. Those are my current NFL Week 1 thoughts.

I know I was impressed too. I was at this bar on Sunday called the Fox & Hound. Had soooo many TVs with all the games and a LIST with where each game was playing in the bar that afternoon!!

AP is the man!

Hard to tell whether the Vikes are actually good or the Falcons are just that bad...hmmm.

Honestly, I think it's a combo of both. There is NO way our defense has that kind of production every week (or even most weeks.)

Also, I bet Simmons feels pretty dumb right about now huh???

He can't feel good about it, that's for sure! :woohoo:

Although the Falcons could turn it around. The last two times Michigan started out 0-2 they went on to win a share of the Big Ten title...admittedly thats college football but the Falcons are only 0-1!!!!
