TOPIC: Who are your TOP 5 teams after NFL's Week 1?

Who are your TOP 5 teams after NFL's Week 1? 5 years 9 months ago #673

I think everyone will agree that New England and Indy deserve to be there. What's the order though? Who was more impressive??

Here's mine:

1) New England

2) Indy

3) San Diego

4) Cincy

5) Seattle
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

1. New England

2. Indianapolis

3. San Diego

4. Cincinatti

5. Carolina - In the running for this spot were the Cowboys, Broncos, Seahawks, Titans, and Steelers. Carolina beat a half-way respectable team by 14 points and didn't give up a ton defensively. You can't say that about the other teams.

If Indy and New England had both put up 14 points against an inferior defense, you'd have a point. But those two teams put on an offensive assault. I don't think that you can say 14 points against the Bears is any better than 38 against the Jets and however many the Colts scored against the Saints.

The both played well, but they also played two of the worst teams in the league. Cincy beating Baltimore was fairly impressive.

The top 3 slots were between Indy, NE and SD and since they all won I picked the team who had the best opponent. I don't care how many points you put up against a team who can't stop the deep ball or pressure your QB.

When the Colts or Patriots play a better team and beat them they could very well go up.

Looking back I should have put that SD played the only team worth mentioning and not defense.

That game should have gone to OT and the Ravens very well could of won (with Boller at the helm). The Bengels should have destroyed them with the TO ratio as it was so I don't think they can be in the Top 5 yet.

Regardless of how they are actually ranked, we all agree on the majority of the teams. Isn't the disparity among the top teams crazy between the AFC and NFC!?!?!

Agreed. The AFC is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the NFC at present.

1. Indy

41-10 over last years NFC runner-up. Does this game say a lot about the differnce between conferences or what?

2. SD

Won comfortably over a very very good Bears team.

3. NE

Primarily because of the alleged cheating its hard to determine how much was actually their players and how much was calling the plays. Still an impressive win (if they're allowed to keep it).

4. Carolina

Played AT St. Louis and came away with a win many thought was unlikely. I think it's more impressive than beating the Bucs by two TDs.

5. Pittsburgh

Destroyed the Browns. I know, its the Browns.
