Kalil or bust! Please don't trade it!!! We can't pass up a franchise Left Tackle for the next decade. We so desperately need him.

Oh, and go vote: www.purplejesusdiaries.com/2012-articles...ot-to-be-stupid.html
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I could deal with Kalil.

I think Pekovic is the right pick there, but I could live with Kalil.

Why would I vote for a pick to be enjoyed by Los Angeles Vikings fans in two short years?

On the bright side, at least Kalil won't have to go find a new place to live...

On the bright side, at least the people of MN won't have to pay a billion dollars (after interest) to tear down a perfectly fine stadium and build a new stadium that the exact same size in it's spot.

True about not having to pay for yet another stadium... that's a good point.

However, and to be fair, the Metrodome is absolutely terrible.

Can you tell me why the metrodome has to be queen's bridged ("Destroy and Rebuild" by Nas) rather than upgraded? I don't understand what's so undoable there. Educate a brother...

First, and probably worst, the concessions and walkways. They are soooooooo small and cramped. Have you ever been to a Vikings game? It takes freakin FOREVER to get out of there. And it's so hard to walk to concessions and whatnot. They are seriously small. The walkways and traffic flow are a huge part of what they are doing with new stadiums these days. Like Target Field... the people flow and concessions is one billion infinity times better than the Dome.

And really, that alone makes things unbearable. Also, the "jumbotrons" are super small and hard to see. Very, very lacking. Other than that, it's just bland, boring, cramped, and doesn't have amenities. The place doesn't make money because the city gets all the parking and concessions, which believe it or not, really does hurt our ownership.

I dunno, and there are other things if I really wanted to nitpick (terrible bathrooms and people flow to them, which kind of goes with what I already said above.)

All in all, the Dome just sucks. I bet if there was a poll or study or whatever comparing all the NFL stadiums, it would definitely be down towards the very bottom.

Kalil would be nice but the guy that will make the biggest impact and will be a game changer is...................................................................................................................

Morris Claiborne!

Look at this division, look at the QBs and WRs!!!! #1 QB and #1 WR are in this division, Morris Claiborne would really help at giving us a chance with all the offenses that are in the NFC North. Really good CBs can really change a game. Left tackles are nice but they are not game changer and you can get other tackles that can do the job at protecting the QB, the DE can't get to the QB all the time.

I still think we desperately need Kalil, but those are all actually pretty fair points.

And for what it's worth, Claiborne is definitely my #2 choice after Kalil.

Our o-line has been horrible for forever. Kalil should be the pick. He would be a massive upgrade and a cornerstone of this team for (hopefully) the next decade. Even the year we went to NFC Championship game, Favre was getting hit all season long. Our line has gotten progressively worse since then, it is probably one of the worst in the league. Adrian gets hit behind the line on what seems like almost every single handoff. Our line has been neglected for far too long.

The o-line is the engine of the offense. With a shitty one like we have, our offense is garbage and we will get outscored every game regardless of whether we have a shutdown CB or not. Also I think it would be easier to find a good CB lower in the draft then it is to find a good LT.

What they should have done is tried to sign Brandon Flowers. Then we wouldn't have to worry about CB. Plus I liked what I saw from Cook last year before he the whole arrest thing and I think Winfield has one year left in him. In anything, we should be more worried about safety. We easily have the worst starting safeties in the entire league. They need to fire Frazier and his crappy vanilla Cover 2 scheme. Without a great MLB who can play the pass or run like Urlacher it is completely useless.

Oh wow good post. Droppin NFL knowledge.

Ok, I'm still firmly entrenched with Kalil at #3 then. If we trade down or take someone else that isn't a guy in the secondary, I'll be pissed. Figures they will though.

Cook sucks, but give him one more year. The Carr guy we signed is at least average, so that's better than what we have. And yes, our safeties are by far the worst in the NFL. It's not even close, really.

I thought Cook played well last season. Better than Winfield, in pass coverage anyways.

Ehhhhh, I dunno about that. Maybe Cook looked good to you because he's somewhat athlete and the rest of our CB's were soooooooooooooooo terrible?

Cook had that one really great game (against Detroit I think it was?)... but besides that he was "below-average", at best. And of course the rest of our CB's were amazingly even somehow worse than that. :(

Too early to talk about what Cook IS really good at?
