Whiskeydizzy has inspired me and I will probably do this every week. Feel free to post your Top 5 or whatever as well. I'll just probably get the ball rolling every Sunday or Monday night.

I'm assuming that nothing the Redskins will do will impress me enough to put them in the Top 5 on Monday night...there's a edit button if they score 100 points or something.

1. New England - No real doubt now. Destroying a team with a supposed great offense (although Rivers has looked incredibly mediocre in first two games) and an above average (albeit incredibly stupid) defense. They probably would have shut out the Chargers had they been video-taping them. I think they clinch a playoff spot with a win next week since they are in the worst division ever.

2. Indianapolis - I really don't think they deserve this spot really since the team they demolished in Week 1 is (now \"was\") highly overrated. A costly dropped pass on third down that all but ended the final drive (the drop wasn't from good defense either) for the Titans this week would have put them in field goal (or really close to it) range. They wouldn't have necessarily made the FG but I wanted to see it go up...and through the up-rights since I hate the Colts. They better watch out for the Texans next week.

3. Pittsburgh - Beat the crap out of both teams...but both teams suck (well maybe Cleveland doesn't since they scored 51 today...but the Bengals defense is horrible). If they handle the Niners without much effort next week they may move up depending on how the Colts handle the up and coming Texans.

4. Dallas - Out of all the 2-0 teams they have given up the most points by far (55) and against two struggling 0-2 teams at that. To their credit they are leading the league in scoring (82) but also against two teams with not that great defenses. We'll see how many they put up against Chicago (and more importantly if they can stop the Bears anemic offense) on Sunday Night. Despite their faults I'm glad the only way the Niners will play them this year is in the play-offs.

5. Houston - It broke my heart to not include the Niners but I have to give the Texans a hell of a lot of credit. They handled the Panthers this week and Andre Johnson looks even better (and he was about their only bright spot) than he has the past couple years with Matt Schaub getting him the ball. I wasn't expecting them to play as good as they have with Ahman Green and Ron Dayne as their RB.

Notes on the rest of the undefeated squads (no particular order):

Niners - First week win looks even better with the Cards beating the Seahawks this week. They need to win a game, by non-nail biting conventions to move up on the list though (if they beat Pittsburgh next week they will be up there...regardless of how they do it).

Packers - As terrible as their offense looked against the Eagles they still won, due too Eagle Special team stupidity. They looked sharp against the Giants. Let's see what they do against embarrassed San Diego next week.

Lions - Very well could go 3-0 as they play the Eagles next week. After that they may only win one more game. I'm not a believer.

Broncos - Team looks great on paper. Offense needs to play better. They had two close games against teams they should have beaten easily.

(If Redskins win tomorrow I'll add something for them)

Defeated Teams of note:

Titans - Very well may win the Wild Card if the Texans or Broncos stumble and/or the Chargers continue to struggle.

Panthers/Buccaneers - With the Saints and Falcons looking like crap these two teams have only themselves to contend with for a play-off spot. Both teams play against opponents that they should beat next week (Falcons and Rams), while the tough road for the Saints continues as they play the Titans.

1. New England - Complete and utter domination

2. Indy - They beat the Saints handily, but they're clearly not the same team as last year. Then they beat the Titans, and although it was close, they were clearly in the driver's seat the whole time. The Colts are a very good football team, but I think the Patriots have the makings of a legendary football team.

3. San Diego - They got killed by a potentially legendary football team, so I won't penalize them too much for that. Somebody had to lose that game. They still beat Chicago and I can't put any other team ahead of them in good conscience.

4. Dallas - My current pick for the NFC Super Bowl representative. Chicago scored 3 points against the Bolts and didn't crush KC.

5. Pittsburgh - I'm grudgingly givng them this spot. I don't think they're that good, but they did kill their oppontents. Granted, both of their opponents stink, but that probably counts for a little more than a team like San Fran or Denver who squeaked by.

Honorable Mentions:

San Fran and Denver - like I said, they squeaked by twice.

Titans - Beat Jacksonville and lost to the Colts by only two

Houston - Beating KC won't get you much praise, but knocking of Carolina on the road was big.

Baltimore - I'd say they're the best team nobody's talking about right now. I think the Steelers are actually a paper tiger and the Ravens will take the AFC North.

Wow... great post Ryan. I never knew that you were such a huge football fan.

Anyhow, here's my rankings sans the indepth analysis:

1) New England - Wow. Simply awesome.

2) Indy - Still the defending champs and 2-0.

3) Dallas - 2-0 with the most points scored in the entire NFL.

4) Pittsburgh - Dominated both opponents.

5) San Diego - 1-1 against two great teams.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Very nice and in depth post! Plus you get a howl for the thread topic:)

I'm doing mine in reverse order...for suspense!!!

Honorable Mentions:

Titans: If Vince had stayed penalty free (or if his 3rd down pass was caught on the final drive) Tennesse could of pulled off the upset. From now on, I will refer to VY only as \"The Self Proclaimed Colt Killer!\" Anyway, this team seems primed for their first playoff appearance since 2003.

Houston: 2-0 for the first time in franchise history! Schaub is the man! And Mario Williams isn't as pathetic as everyone first thought!!

Detriot: Wha wha wha WHAT!!!! Just wait until Millen hears of their success! He'll do something about it!!!!!! (My guess would be drafting a long snapper #1)

Bears & Ravens: Since they each are only half a team, I have them tied on the honorable mention list.

5) San Diego - Beat the Bears rather soundly. Lost to a team thats looking pretty unbeatable right now...

4) Dallas - 2-0 with a TERRIFIC offense. Let's just hope the defense can figure things out.

3) Pittsburgh - Cleveland's win over Cincy makes what happened Week 1 seem all the more impressive. I'm still not sold on this team as a serious contender because of...

2) Indy - Defending Champs. 2-0. Need more? Okay, they're pretty much #2 because they're the defending champs. 41-10 win over NO looking less impressive and struggled to beat a solid (but not great) Titans team. Did I say the Colts were 2-0 and the defending champs??

1) New England - Honestly, who else?? Clearly the (gulp) class of the league so far. There's no reason why this team can't go 19-0 this year...
