The Financial State of the Wolves

Written by College Wolf on .

I present this FAQ to everyone who finds themselves wondering about the state of the Timberwolves team salary, and just where exactly this club currently stands.  I'm not talking about just "right now"... but also over the next few seasons.  This is a snapshot and analyzation of the roster and salary breakdown that I hope many of you will find helpful.  Do you find yourself asking any of the following questions: "How much money do we have to spend?" or "How does the luxury tax work?" or "Are we over the luxury tax?" or "What is the status of certain contracts on our team?"  Perhaps you are just tired of going over to Hoopshype.com every time you want to check a certain T-Wolf's contract status.  If so, this may be the resource for you.

Rashad's Poetry Be Stylin'

Written by Anthony Hall on .

It's often hard to remember that many NBA players are...well, somewhat intelligent.  And apparently, Rashad McCants fits into that category.  While I was searching around the internet for something to write about, I came across some of Rashad's poetry...and although I certainly wouldn't call it "good" poetry, it's definitely a step-up from T-Hud's garbage.

The REAL IMPORTANT stats

Written by Liston Von Culbertson on .

I've been waiting and waiting but it looks like the K.G. trade is a legit trade and not the most elaborate prank ever. That sucks. This is the first time I've mentioned the trade since it happened because it hurt. I'm not going to lie. It really, really hurt. It felt exactly the same as when I broke up with my last serious girlfriend. At first I was in shock, then it was disbelief, then I was mad, then I was sad, then I said to myself, "At least she'll be happy where he's going." Then I was like, "Screw that, I need to be happy. I hope she trips over an extension cord in front of a large group of people." But alas, I am a Timberwolves fan and in the spirit of moving on I've decided to give this new team a chance.

Wolves Notes: Huddy, Jaric, Big Al

Written by Anthony Hall on .

Those of you who read my little bio thingy know that I'm one of 78 people nationwide who bought Troy Hudson's album, "Undrafted," in its first week of release.  I was also one of the 38 people in Minneapolis who bought it.

I Have No Famous Friends

Written by Anthony Hall on .

I saw a thread on another message board that got me thinking.  This Wolves rube walked into the MOA Apple Store, and saw Corey Brewer and Chris Richard there.  So after reading his story, I started to remember some encounters I've had with famous people...and all of them were awkward.

Lacking In Witt

Written by Anthony Hall on .

I was feeling unusually positive about the Wolves following the KG deal. Things finally seemed to be looking up for them, once they'd added a group of talented young players through the trade. But a day or two went by, and a depressing thought suddenly hit me: "Oh yeah, Wittman's still the coach. Crap." no comments

Was Casey "Thrown Under the Bus" by McHale? Not Exactly…

Written by College Wolf on .

“With the firing of Head Coach Dwane Casey, there has been plenty of dissent.  Listening to the barrage undertaken by KFAN yesterday (Barreiro, Sludge and Lake) it has become apparent that most of the blame has been lifted from the hands of Casey; as if the blood upon his hands has been wiped clean.  With this, it seems McHale has proceeded to be the one who has continuously rolled in the blood of our slaughtered Wolves.

Second Half Power Rankings

Written by College Wolf on .

Feel free to hate on me. I’m know that I’m not even close to my ideal once per month output. Hopefully I can pick it up here at the end of the season. Sometimes ya just get busy though. No excuse, I know… This update will be similar to my beginning of the season Power Rankings. While the All-Star break is not technically the middle of the season game-wise, it’s considered the half-way point. I know, doesn’t make sense. no comments

Musings of a Wolves Fan: Wolves vs Seattle 3.27.07

Hmmm….  Good thing I was less than sober last night. That made this epic implosion much easier to stomach.  By the end we were definitely shaking our heads and laughing (manically, I might add.)

What's a Win Worth?

Written by College Wolf on .

This cesspit of a season is finally over, with not much for Wolves fans to look forward to other than the draft lottery on Tuesday and the subsequent draft.  Perhaps some fans are enviously watching the playoff games (and seeing how truly far from “it” the Wolves squad is.)  Personally, as a fan of basketball and the NBA in general, I have been watching the playoff games with eager anticipation.  While not as exciting as the playoffs were last year, overall they’ve still been pretty exciting.  You had the upstart Warriors trying to shock the world, and Lebron is doing his best D-Wade impersonation by leading the Cavs to the conference finals. If I had to bet on it, I’d say we are looking at a rematch of the 2004-05 Pistons-Spurs finals.
