NBA Official Kenny Mauer Goes Crazy, 5 Technicals in 10 Seconds
For those of you that may have missed it, here is the drama from last night where official Kenny Mauer T's us up 5 times in 10 seconds, including two players at the same time. Brewer, Darko, Love, and Rambis (ejected) where the victims. Talk about not being a T-Wolves homer.
Extra credit to Coach Darrell Rhombus at the 1:18 mark. The obscenity was enjoyable.
And here's a "funny" quote from Mr. Mauer last week in SLAM magazine:

Ken Mauer, who’s entering his 25th season as an NBA referee, says finding resolution to a confrontation before it reaches the ‘technical’ stage is paramount. "If it’s something where I can say to the player before he overreacts, ‘Talk to me, c’mon, talk to me,’ now we’re talking," Mauer says at the NBA referees’ annual meeting in Jersey City, NJ, in mid-September. "I avoid an overreaction; therefore, it didn’t escalate."
For the record, Ken Mauer is not a good ref. He's a primadonna who has been on the court for some of the worst officiated games that I have watched in the last 10 years.
The fact that college refs are more consistent is embarrassing for real basketball fans.

Make that a Tech and a $20,000 fine on Mauer.
I just can't wrap my mind around the 2 techs to kick it off. It seems like making such an unprecedented call would come after the players were really being loud in their displeasure. The call came long after Darko did his little dance across the floor. There must be 10 fouls a game that get that level of reaction.
God I love the Rambis tall guy swagger off the court.

@LFJeremy Couldn't agree with you more. Really glad to hear you say that, especially as a Spurs fan. People tend to overreact in sports because of a bias to "their team", but I don't think any Wolves fans are overreacting AT ALL here. It was a total disgrace.
Ken Mauer should lose his job over this. Unacceptable for an official to lose his cool and, more importantly, lose his objectivity mid-game. To call 4 techs with a dead ball after calling 2 ticky-tack fouls, then not call 3 consecutive muggings by the other team, is unacceptable.
This is how rumors of games being rigged by the league and its mafia connections get started. (Especially when the ref in question looks like a total jabroni.)
